Policy Research International Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity corporation that promotes sustainable human development by providing developmental oriented services that enhances intellectual, physical and emotional development of children, youths, adults Family, and senior citizens.

Our Core Objective

Our Objectives are to:

  •  Promotes sustainable human (children, youths, and family) development in Urban Poor and disadvantaged communities by addressing environmental and psychosocial problems affecting people’s ability to reach their potentials, especially in disadvantaged communities.

 

  • Promoting business growth and Local Economy development by providing vocational skills, job training and business management coaching and mentoring to disadvantaged people such as homeless youths, adults, family, people with intellectual and development disabilities.

 

  • Promoting social transformation by providing affordable housing, counseling, and referral for support services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and others escaping abusive situations.

Jafar Abdulkadir Danesi – Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer

The Executive Director of Policy Research International Inc., Mr. Jafar A. Danesi obtained his Master of Science (M.Sc.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degrees in sociology from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and Certificate in Career Development Services from Kansas State University, United States of America.

Danesi attended several International and National professional development training in: career development services in Kansas State University, United States of America; Training facilitation organized by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), Nov-Dec. 2006; gender equality mainstreaming in International Training Centre of the ILO, Turin, Italy May 2006; Managing Projects in Controlled Environment (PINCE2) conducted by Office of Government Commerce and APM Group, UK, 2005; Advancing Resource Mobilization and Delivering for Africa (ARMADA) by UNDP/RBA in Bonn Germany in 2005; and adolescent youth friendly reproductive health Management conducted by Action Health Inc., and United Nations Children Funds in 2001.

Mr. Danesi, before co-establishing Policy Research International Inc. (PRI Inc.) worked in several non-government organizations some of which includes: working as a Senior Technical Manager with DFID SPARC public service reform program with Lagos State government, where he coordinated the technical assistance that enhanced the capacity of Key Lagos State Government to use Corporate Planning to improve service delivery in Lagos State;  He also worked as Career Development Advisor and Program Manager with that University of Lagos-USAID-Kansas State University Partnership project to strengthen business education in Nigeria; as Program Manager in charge of the Police-Community Partnership and Police Accountability project with Center for Law Enforcement Education (CLEEN) Foundation where he coordinated the implementation of the Police-community partnership project in six states in Nigeria (Lagos, Kano, Benue, Borno, Imo and Rivers) from June 2002 to January 2005; and as Program officer, Reproductive Health/rights HIV/AIDS education with Health Matters Inc. from August 1999 to September 2001. In addition, Mr. Danesi worked as Economic and Government Teacher with Aka Affot Community Secondary School from May 1997-June1998.

Danesi has a good grasp of the relationship between poverty, gender relation and social exclusion in patriarchal societies in Africa context, and extensive work experience both at community and policy levels.


Josefina Joy Theriot
– Vice President

Josefina Joy Theriot is a wife, mother, career woman, and a non-profit executive. Her professional experience started from the University of Bohol, Philippines where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in accounting with a minor in management. She worked in the Philippines as the National Coordinator for CARP (Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles) for10 years working with politician, school officials and Student leaders before proceeding to the United States of America after marriage to her American husband and continued in her academic pursuit at Glendale College, Los Angeles, CA for a certification in accounting.

Joy has worked at the New Yorker hotel in New York City as Front desk coordinator for 4 years then become a purchasing manager at Saeilo Inc. in Blauvelt New York. After moving to New Jersey, she worked at Whitney Digital Equipment for couples of years at the same time become a part time volunteer as the regional coordinator of UPF (Universal Peace Federation) in Clifton NJ.  In 2006 they moved to Texas and worked at Kemah Boardwalk Hotel, Kemah,Texas . Currently she is working at the Unification Theological Seminary as the Director of Student Life and Interfaith Outreach. President, Family Outreach Foundation; Chairwoman, Women’s Federation for World Peace Houston Texas; Coordinator at Christian Relief Foundation during hurricane IKE; President, Filipino International Association in America (FICA) 2013-2015. Currently, she is the United Nations Director for Global Women for Peace and Unity Foundation, a non-profit organization; Vice- President for UN Affairs for We Care for Humanity. President, Pathway Resources; and a committee member of Cities for CEDAW, a committee on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Joy was also a member of the organizing committee for the celebration of International Women’s Day at the United Nations, March 9, 2015, that brings 20,000 people; and Co-chair of CSW planning committee (Commission on Status of Women NY); and former member of national home school association. She has been married for 30 years to her one and only husband, and they are blessed with 4 children whom she home schooled. The eldest recently graduated with honors, mechanical engineering at West Point, United States Military Academy, the second daughter is a teacher in the Bronx, the third child oldest son is pursuing a career in Law and the youngest is pursuing to become a film director. She is now actively involved in the work of ACE (Association of Christian Evangelist) of whom she was ordained as Bishop and appointed as district superintendent in New York.


Barbara Palache
-Secretary
Ms. Palache is a Mother, responsible, Certified Nursing Assistant,  and caring individual with over 16 years extensive work experience in Health and Human services in New York City of United States of America.  Ms. Palache obtained her certificate of Completion from Progressive Home Health Services: Certificate of Achievement from The Baby Nurse Agency: Certificate of Completion from The Alzheimer’s Disease or Other Dementias Training Program from Home Instead Senior Care:  City Council Citation from Daneek Miller.

Ms Palache have extensive work experience working with dieticians, dietary aids, nurses, and physicians ensuring each Client is treated as an individual by offering suitable menu options to ensure they are receiving the right diets for their nutritional, therapeutic or cultural needs all within a strict budget. She is responsible for planning, implementing and supervising feeding, food and nutrition program in adherence with policy research international Inc’s and New York She also coordinates community-based management of acute malnutrition approach feeding assessments and surveillance interventions.
